Chris Elder
Chief Executive Officer
Chris has worked in the energy sector for over 25 years. Prior to joining Fidra Energy, he was CEO of West Burton Energy overseeing the acquisition of the business and subsequent sale of its operational assets to Total Energies in August 2024. Chris has also previously held a number of leadership roles at InterGen, a large independent power producer, both in the UK and other international markets.
Lisa Mackay
Chief Operations Officer
Lisa has worked in the energy sector for over 25 years. Prior to joining Fidra Energy, she was Chief Commercial Officer at West Burton Energy overseeing the design and execution of its commercial strategy. Lisa has also previously held a number of commercial leadership roles at InterGen across a variety of disciplines including trading, asset management and IT.
Tony Julius
Chief Financial Officer
Tony has worked in the energy sector for over 30 years. Prior to joining Fidra Energy, he was CFO at West Burton Energy overseeing the establishment of a stand-alone finance function, the refinancing of the business in 2023, and subsequent sale of its operational assets to Total Energies in August 2024. Tony has also previously held a number of finance leadership roles at Centrica and EPH.
Morris Van Looy
Chief Growth & Strategy Officer
Morris has worked in the energy sector for over 30 years. Prior to joining Fidra Energy, he was Chief Growth & Strategy Officer at West Burton Energy overseeing the acquisition of Thorpe Marsh and progressing its other greenfield development projects. Morris has also previously held a number of growth and development leadership roles at InterGen and Scottish Power.
Sam Beckett
HR Director
Sam has 30 years of Human Resources experience, including 9 years as Head of HR for Veolia Environmental Services in the UK. Sam spent 6 years with EDF where she played a key role in managing the closure of Cottam Power Station, and four years as Human Resources Director at West Burton Energy prior to its sale to Total Energies.

Walid Mouawad
Board member
Walid is a Managing Director & Global Co-Head of Energy Transition at EIG and a member of the Investment and Executive Committees. He helps oversee a global infrastructure portfolio in sectors including, among others, power, renewables and energy transition assets across credit and equity strategies out of EIG’s London office. Prior to joining EIG in 2011, he was a Director in WestLB’s energy structured finance team where he spent four years and was involved in the execution and oversight of a number of transactions across EMEA.
Peter Clifton
Board member
Peter Clifton is a seasoned senior banker with more than two decades of experience in infrastructure finance across the public and private sectors. He serves as a Non‑Executive Director at Fidra Energy, Amp Clean Energy and Eelpower Energy, bringing a strong track record of leadership and execution across the global energy and infrastructure markets.
Peter is a Director within the National Wealth Fund, where he holds sector responsibility for electricity storage. His role spans the origination, execution and management of investment mandates. Since joining at the fund’s inception over four years ago, he has led the deployment of more than £1 billion into clean energy and energy‑transition projects and platforms. His earlier career includes roles at HM Treasury, UK Export Finance, Dexia, NIBC and Evolution Infrastructure, where he oversaw power generation and energy‑transition investments. His expertise covers project and corporate finance, capital markets, financial advisory, debt securitisation, risk management and equity investment.
Randall Wade
Board member
Mr. Wade is a Co-Founder of EIG and a member of its Investment and Executive Committees. He has broad involvement in the firm’s various activities including investments, investor relations, operations and strategic initiatives. Since joining EIG in 1996, Mr. Wade has filled various roles including President, Chief Operating Officer, head of the direct lending strategy, investment principal with coverage responsibility for Australia and an analyst for the oil and gas team. Prior to joining EIG, Mr. Wade was a Commercial Lending Officer for First Interstate Bank of Texas, where he was responsible for developing a middle-market loan portfolio. Mr. Wade received his B.A. in Economics and his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Miles Alexander
Board member
Miles Alexander is a Director in the Portfolio Management team of the National Wealth Fund. He is responsible for equity, debt and financial guarantees in several sectors including energy storage, power grid, electric vehicle supply chain, clean energy retrofit, steel and defence. He is a Non-Executive Director of Fidra Energy, the UK’s largest battery energy storage platform. He has over a decade’s experience of investing and managing energy transition assets. He has also worked for many years in corporate and leveraged finance covering mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financial advisory, fund raising, business development, investment and asset management. Prior organizations include working at the UK Green Investment Bank, Ares Management, Tata and General Electric.
